Successful Hairdressing Apprenticeship Provider Bought by Regional Salon and Training Chain

Following 25 years of successful trading, hairdressing apprenticeship provider, owners of BL Training Ltd have secured the businesses future with a sale to popular regional salon chain and training firm, Kleek Apprenticeships, with advice from Debére accountants.

Since its formation, BL Training directors Julie Ritson and Gail Dalton-Ayres have provided an alternative to college for prospective hairdressers and barbers across 3 training academies in Newcastle, Darlington and Stockton. BL works closely with regional employers to provide real-world work experience for students and focuses on providing a ‘one-stop shop’ of training solutions for hairdressing and barbering professionals throughout their careers.

The sale of BL Training Ltd to Kleek Apprenticeships allows Julie and Gail to secure the future of the business and protect the excellent reputation they have established while also allowing them to exit the business after 25 years. Advice was provided by Tony Tomlin, Director at Washington-based Debére Accountants, who was involved in negotiations between all parties and legal advisors, as well as assisting with the business forecasts and financial due diligence required to enable the sale to proceed.

Gail Dalton-Ayres, former Director of BL Training Ltd, commented: We have experienced a highly efficient and very professional service from Debere over the years and benefitted from excellent advice and support as a small business. This has been invaluable; special thanks to Claire, Chloe and Tony for all their support. Would highly recommend them.”

Tony Tomlin, Director of Debére added: “We have worked with Julie, Gail and BL Training for around 10 years, managing the majority of their finance function, processing, payroll, management accounts etc. so we knew the company inside out, so it was a pleasure to advise them on the sale. We knew the company had to be sold to the right buyer, and it is great to give them peace of mind that the business they worked so hard on is in the right hands. We wish them both the best of luck for the future!”

Legal advice was provided by Rebecca Stopford at Bhayanilaw.
